The Jets and the 49ers are set to headline the first Monday Night Football game of 2024 with a matchup in Santa Clara, California.

The starting QB for the Jets is 4-time MVP Aaron Rodgers who is playing hasn’t played a snap of football since his season-ending injury 4 snaps into the 2023 season. Expect the start of the game for Rodgers to be slow as he gets used to football again. 

A key player to look out for for the Jets is running back Breece Hall. In week 1 last year coming off an ACL tear he got 10 carries and 1 reception. In this game, I would think his workload gets bigger this time around and the offense in week 1 is worked around him.

On the defense, the Jets biggest threat is running back Christian McCaffery who will likely be used in the rushing game and the passing game, especially screens. The Jets will also have to keep applying pressure to the quarterback especially on the right-hand side as the 49ers have one of the worst RT in football, and if getting to the works expect Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel to have lots of receptions. Another huge part of the defense is keeping the pass catchers, George Kittle, Brandon Aiyuk, and Deebo Samuel in check and Sauce Gaurdner and DJ Reed will help with that

Jets Key to Victory:

• Contain CMC as much as you can - It will be hard to slow down the best running back in football but the best you can do is contain him, a player on the Jets to look for to help slow down CMC is linebacker Quincy Williams who will likely slow CMC down in screen game especially 

• Feed Breece Hall - Trying to crack the 49ers defense will be a huge struggle for the Jets offense but feeding Breece Hall in the rush game can help break the ice against the 49ers defense.
