After a long and disappointing season, the Jets have officially wrapped up the season with a win over the Dolphins which had a major historical achievement.
After a 3 and out for the Jets defense, the offense struggled on the first play of the game when Aaron Rodgers dropped back and threw an interception to Tyrel Dodson on a pass intended for Devante Adams.
After 2 field goals from the Dolphins and multiple punts from the Jets, New York was down at the start of the 2nd quarter.
When the Jets got the ball with 11 minutes left in the 2nd quarter, Aaron Rodgers and the offense drove down the field and capped off a 79-yard drive with a passing touchdown to Tyler Conklin. That touchdown was a special one for Aaron Rodgers as it was his 500th career touchdown, joining a short list of just 4 QBs to do so.
The next 2 drives for the Jets defense resulted in turnovers, the first being an interception by Ashtyn Davis and a fumble recovery from Quincy Williams.
After the Jets got the ball back after the fumble the offense drove down the field and Rodgers connected with Allen Lazard for the second touchdown for Rodgers on the day.
The second quarter closed out with the Jets turning the ball over again this time was an interception from Ashtyn Davis.
The second half started with the Jets punting, when the Dolphins got the ball, the Jets defense had yet another turnover this time, it was a fumble recovered by Soloman Thomas. With the offense set up with good field position at the Dolphins 49-yard line, the Jets hit a field goal to make the score 18-6.
The Dolphins then responded with a rushing touchdown from Devon Achane. On the next drive, Aaron Rodgers threw his 3rd touchdown of the day to his longtime teammate Devante Adams.
When the Dolphins got the ball they hit back with a touchdown of their own with a Jonnu Smith touchdown reception from Tyler Huntley.
And on what could have been Aaron Rodgers final drive in the NFL he finished it with a memorable ending with a touchdown pass to Breece Hall to make it his 4th touchdown pass of the day and the 503rd of his career.
The game would close out in a 32-20 win for the Jets and finish their season at a 5-12 record.
